This! I was one of those students, low SAT score, Low ACT score and low GPA. Tuskegee gave me a chance and said “you have to make a 3.0 your first year or you can’t come back” while all the other schools denied me and I excelled. Went to grad school and I’m still excelling!
HBCUs take those same "lower-performing" students with 16 and 17 ACT scores and turn them into doctors, lawyers, educators, nurses, engineers, computer scientists, etc.
