Folks, your friendly neighborhood Muslim here. Please don't use Islamic terms to describe the fascist movement in America. It isn't Sharia, which allows abortion, or Islamic law or the Taliban. It's white Christian nationalism. Name it. The radical movement is homegrown.

Time for a book recommendation. I TA’d a class on the history of science and the professor recommended this book. Man, it read like a novel. I felt like I was at Galileo’s trial. If you are interested in intellectual history, have a read!

I mentioned this to a group of Christian students on Friday night at the University of Arkansas: “We can speak about how the Quran was preserved theoretically, but it might more powerful to just experience it at the mosque right now, especially considering it’s Ramadan now.”
Al-Bāqillānī (d. 403/1013) supports his argument on the preservation of Quran by referencing its constant public recitation in Taraweeh since the time of ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb without any documented accusation of changes or distortion to have emerged during that early phase.

When I was in college, there was a brother that was looked up to by many others for his religiosity. He disappeared for a year and came back beardless, with dreadlocks, and some really modern threads. He stopped practicing.
Most of the brothers were heartbroken.
