I'm not an economist (though I do have a degree in it from Duke), but these tariffs on Canada and Mexico will drive up the cost of oil, some food, cement, cars and lumber. It will cause a trade war and increase costs for consumers. via @cbsmoneywatch

@mreflow I thought about your musings a lot. Also makes me wonder about Stargate's link to the current freezing of all health / research grants and orgs (eg. NIH). I wonder how much of these research projects the admin thinks it will be able to transition over to AI with reduced oversite.

When I first came to LA to study for a semester at USC, I used to drive Sunset all the way from downtown to the PCH. The last 15 minutes would be through the Palisades. I always dreamed of living there. This is that drive. 💔
Whoever shot this 17 minute video showing a drive through Pacific Palisades one month ago had no idea how historic it would become. If you’re not from Los Angeles, this might give you a better idea of what we’ve lost. Please keep in mind this is just ONE street. This doesn’t include the entire Pacific Coast Highway, most of Altadena, and an additional 18 miles of Pacific Palisades. 💔💔💔
