@chrashwood That is unfortunate. The scientific discussions that once took place on this platform were essential for training xAI.

@an_chem In engineering journals, you compare your work to the state-of-the-art. In mass spectrometry, it seems like taking and claiming others' work (even commercial products) is a common practice. You have to just do so subtly to make others believe it is your own original work.

@t_kaloudis Report to the patent office. It is waste, fraud, abuse of the patent office resources to examine this application.

@elonmusk This is misleading. Tesla recently sued Rivian for trade secret misappropriation. Patents and trade secrets are IP rights with the difference that one gets a 20 yr monopoly (patent) by disclosing it to the public. Why sue Rivian if you think IP is for the weak?

@dschweppe1 @chrashwood @mjmaccoss If R2's comment specifically targets the 7e9 intensity as being low, simply stating that there’s no single-point measure for data quality might miss the mark. I would just focus on arguing that 7e9 being low is subjective.

@dschweppe1 I would argue that 7e9 is an arbitrary number. Unfortunately, vendors keep ion currents confidential, without which, the S/N remains the only meaningful basis for comparison—assuming, of course, that vendors don't artificially boost S to produce more favorable spectra.

@chrashwood @nesvilab @mjmaccoss @wfondrie @paragmallick It could be that or it could be that by giving access, the results of comparison could be damaging to their software.
