A must see exhibition of the fantastic #waleswindow story. Come & see the creative contributions made by the schools & college students over 60 years on, in a continuous stance of solidarity first started by John Petts in 1963. @16thstreetbham#makeitright

For context, He visited to honor the 60th anniversary of the 16th Street Church bombing. And to reaffirm the special relationship Birmingham has with Wales. After that awful event, the people of Wales raised funds for a stained glass window to aid in the rebuilding. #waleswindow

Today marks 60 years since the bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama during the 1963 race riots. In response to this tragic event, the Welsh people gifted a stained-glass window to the church, designed by John Petts, known as the #WalesWindow 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇺🇸
