There is this thing called "LLM Grokking" (learned that reading @chamath 's substack mail) and thought that must explain xAi's Grok. So I thought I'd ask, and this was part of its answer: The term "grok" comes from Robert A. Heinlein's science fiction novel "Stranger in a Strange Land," where it means to deeply understand something or someone in a profound way.
