This past month has been an absolute blast getting Entropy set up, which paves the way for @MattFiebach and I to make a real impact on the space. For those of you who have been asking what I'm up to now, check it outš
We are excited to announce the official launch of Entropy Advisors! For too long, decentralized organizations have suffered from: - An inability to procure and maintain high quality contributors and source professional 3rd parties - Broken communication pipelines - A lack of accountability measures - Contributors whose personal agendas misalign with organizational goals - Widespread apathy among token holders and community members - And more We believe that effective coordination within DAOs is essential for crypto to reach its full potential. But what exactly do we mean by "Entropy"? In organizational systems, Entropy is the unavoidable drift towards disorder. It's a phenomenon readily apparent to anyone involved with open-source communities. Indeed, DAOs exemplify this concept of Entropy in every aspect. At Entropy Advisors our mission is clear: we manage the chaos of Entropy to keep systems organized and running smoothly, while still sparking innovation. In the world of decentralized governance, it's all about striking the perfect balance between structure and creativity to drive success. The Journey Our co-founders, @MattFiebach and @swmartin19, spent the last ~3 years building Blockworks Research - which has now become one of the industry's most trusted sources for crypto-native research and analytics. As the first two employees, Matt spearheaded services and governance, while Sam focused on the product and day-to-day operations. They now turn their attention, networks, and experience to Entropy Advisors. Entropy's north star is to help legitimize decentralized governance over time, enabling a system that allows people from around the world to contribute to something much bigger and more equitable than traditional careers can offer, without sacrificing stability. Turning their gaze to the broader governance landscape, our co-founders identified @arbitrum as a standout: the most active bottoms-up organization in the industry. With the best tech stack, a rich developer ecosystem, one of the largest treasuries, and a fervently dedicated community, Arbitrum is uniquely positioned for impactful initiatives. This is where it gets exciting... Entropy Advisors is proud to announce that it will be working exclusively with Arbitrum for the next 6 months, and hopefully into perpetuity if the community will have us. We have received a grant to bootstrap our business from the Arbitrum Foundation, and will be concentrating all of our efforts here to help make the DAO more efficient, effective, and professional. No delegation power, no ulterior motives, just Arbitrum. We strongly believe Arbitrum is strongly positioned to not just be around in 2 years, but also in 20 years, and hopefully in 200 years. People often say "Companies/Countries are just groups of people, and are therefore only as good as the people and processes within them". We believe Arbitrum is no different, and can only achieve its lofty goals with the right people and processes in place - balancing Entropy within the system. We have already passed one proposal through the governance process, funding @HackHumanityCo with $309k to get Arbitrum contributors in the same room at ETH CC in Brussels. We have another proposal live on the Arbitrum Snapshot, which aims to lower DAO expenditure on multi-sig signers while reducing the friction for proposal authors by introducing a canonical multi-sig committee that can be leveraged by contributors. These are small examples of us playing our role in the Arbitrum ecosystem, but small contributions every single day amount to large changes over time. We encourage anyone interested in getting involved in the Arbitrum DAO to join the conversations on the forum. To any ARB delegates, token holders, developers, 3rd party companies interested in contributing, or anyone else, feel free to get in touch with us by visiting the link in our bio. Lastly, we are hiring! If you are passionate about making the Arbitrum DAO incrementally better, one day at a time, please reach out to us via DM.
