And doing credit checks. In many jobs, especially cashiers, an applicant must have a high credit score. But if the jobs paid high enough wages, no worker would be stealing from the company. And workers could pay their bills and improve credit scores.

It's not a lie. Vaccines do work. They have helped a lot of people avoid getting sick from Covid. They haven't lied about the variants either. It sounds like your father had a bad case of Covid without the strong immune system he needed to recover from it. My sympathies.
