Let me try and spell it out. Data is power and Elon and his acolytes have been given the keys to have the ability to control every aspect of your life. By gifting a private citizen who has built a business empire around data, Trump has effectively sold every American into data slavery. Musk knows exactly how the Chinese social credit system works and I predict with some confidence, that US social credit is coming to every aspect of American life in the not too distant future. In China, cash now represents less than 30% of transactions and is almost extinct in big cities. Almost all transactions are app driven and tied to a social credit account. The Chinese Social Credit System (SCS) is a government-run system that evaluates the trustworthiness of individuals, businesses, and government institutions. The system assigns scores based on behavior, with the goal of promoting social compliance and a more harmonious society. The SCS collects data from many sources, including financial records, social media, and government databases  The data is used to calculate a social credit score for each individual or entity  Scores can affect access to social benefits like loans, travel, and property purchases  People with good scores are rewarded, while people with bad scores are punished  It’s used for transport, shopping and every aspect of your day to day life. The government knows who you are, where you are. What you spend, when and where you spend it. Facial recognition is able to identify law breaking activity which can instantly affect your social credit score. The government can remove access to transport and any other activity under the control of the social credit system. It is the ultimate state control tool. Ask yourself if the upcoming X Payment system is a coincidence? Trump’s commitment to AI investment has the potential to deliver an integrated social credit system from which there will be no return. Am I saying this is going to happen? I have no idea, but under the leadership of a sociopathic narcissist, it is a significant risk.
