Because my mother got diagnosed with CA Breast and I was back to zero again due to everything me and my family was going thru. But alhamdulillah as she improved I came back stronger at Upwork. Basically coming from a family who nealry collapsed financially due to CA treatment.

One thing more, people often ask if I have published any papers or not. The answer is, I helped a lot of people in statistics part and manuscripts but I didn’t write and publish any paper of my own, but I’m planning to pursue some of topics. Budget is mainly the issue sometimes.

Please do not mix being Pendu with being Desi/Punjabi. I've never seen desi people wearing mismatched outfits, poor fashion sense kr carrying it all in wrong way, that doesn't even suit them.
And yeah, Punjabis dress up far better than you pseudo philosophers can think of.

for me at first because sending proposals on upwork job-feed can be really exhausting. You can send a 100 proposals in start and expect to get zero response from clients. That’s what was happening. So I improved my profile, and did some courses that definitely helped

For free, and these courses were almost 6 months on avg, but I did most of them and tried to not drift away from my med field. It’s the time when I developed interest in epidemiology, biostats, data analysis with R, and manuscript writing etc.

Majority of them just don’t know how to have a healthy debate or respectful conversation. In reply to one of my tweets a Dr cursed AIMC’s entire alumni, just because I posted sth about these recent convictions. Coming from educated backgrounds this just doesn’t suit well.
I think one of IK's lasting political legacies is convincing a whole generation of badly brought-up spoilt brats (especially overseas type) that it is "heroic" and "cool" to be douche bags, spew venom online, and heckle opponents in person.

Someone needs to refine their concepts. In that theme, being pendu wasn't being related to sth we call desi/culture, it's more about the fashion sense some people carry in terribly wrong way. It was never about sth coming from the village, apky jesy shehri bhi pendu ho skty hain.

It is the worst thing that can ever happen to someone. It goes on for hours, productivity drops to zero, insomnia, and the amount of irritability & restlessness comes with it is huge. Every sound annoys you, you can’t bear light. NSAIDs only corrode your stomach. And so on.
