In Malta, I did what I've never done before. I dropped my camera, my favourite lens broken. Then a rather wonderful thing happened today. Unbeknownst to me, these beautiful travel buddies clubbed together a substantial sum, & have replaced it for me. Totally speechless. 🥹🙏🙏🙏

is spot on. I feel that as WW2 passes out of living memory, the lessons of human history are forgotten, and the warning signs of populism not recognised....

There is no huge influx. We take far fewer refugees than other major European countries. This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s, and I’m out of order?

V sad to report that Stan Perry passed away this morning - the last troop commander of the Sherwood Rangers. Incredible to think he was wowing us at

just a couple of weeks ago. What a remarkable & lovely man he was. Thoughts with his daughter, Kat.

Watching Band of Brothers for the umpteenth time...had a wander round Aldbourne over the summer where Easy Company were billeted before D Day. The church is where Ronald Spiers was married. The Blue Boar pub is on the right, the unofficial Officers Mess.
