Ever wanted to play I Wanna Be The Guy in a Mario World hack?
This hack recreates the gameplay of IWBTG. I tried making the physics as faithful as possible. This is a prototype, and I'm hoping to turn this into a full fledged hack one day.

background and foreground scenery for an underwater level, using only layer 3 (2BPP graphics), HDMA gradients and parallax, and some cluster sprite fish. Really proud how this turned out!
Don't mind the vanilla Mario graphics, I haven't drawn any swimming frames for him yet :)

I have designed the logo for it too. As usual, it might see a couple tweaks in the future, but overall I'm pretty happy with it!

I've seen a lot of people say/joke how i'll get a cease and for my SMW hack. Just know that SMWCentral has existed since 2005, and they have never ever taken down a hack before. Big hacks such as A Plumber For All Seasons, Brutal Mario, Invictus, JUMP, and whatnot still exist...

I hid Uni the cat as an easter egg in VLDC12.

So I've been pondering about the hack's name a lot, and decided to change "Mission" to "Quest"
I think it's way catchier now, in my opinion :)
Unfortunately that means I'll have to upload an altered version of my showcase video. And that's what I did!

's dynamic sprite system, which will allow for a lot of new possibilities for sprites and bosses. Here's a look at the giga crab. A mid-boss for the underwater level I've shown, with all its animations. I'll implement this big guy later. 🦀

Yesterday my ROM for Stellar Island Quest just randomly turned into a virus, or at least Windows thought it was one, and put it in quarantine. THANK GOD Lunar Magic restore points brought it back. Windows is goofy as shit.

As you can see, I'm basically "reviving" this hack, but also making it it's own thing. Lots of things will be repurposed.

I actually used to have a twitter account for hacking related stuff, but working on both VLDC11 and 12, as well as some personal things, has really burned me out. I wanted quit ROM hacking, and only focus on music, which I've been doing since 2017. So I deleted that other account

An update on my hack's name!!
Ever since I gave the hack a name and advertised it, I was never fully confident in it. The name just never fully stuck with me. I want to be confident in the title, and want everyone else to like it too, so I'm making the current name tentative.

Hell, hacks such as Newer Super Mario Bros. get even more traction, and they're doing just fine. Creators don't publish the ROMs, but patches that modify the ROM.
