Boris Johnson was elected leader of the Conservative Party by a big majority of members. He laid out his policy for Brexit and was elected on that basis. All elected Conservatives should respect the decision our party made & back him. To not do so shows disrespect to our members.

One thing I genuinely don't understand - if the EU actually believe Brexit will be such a disaster for the UK, as they have repeatedly told us, why is it they seem utterly terrified of us being free from their interference and control? We have to stand firm.

I'm getting fed up of the 'far right' accusation. Can anyone name one of Boris Johnsons policies that is 'far right' (to be clear wanting to respect the result of the referendum and leave the EU doesn't count). Boris is the most moderate centre ground leader we have ever had.

Let's be clear those who forced the Surrender (Benn) Bill through never thought PM would get a new deal. He did. Then they thought he would never get it through Parliament. He was going to. Hence todays shenanigans. The country deserves better than this dishonest Parliament.

Sorry Matt, I’m afraid the Conservative Party has been taken over by unelected advisors, entryists and usurpers who are trying to turn it from a broad church into an extreme right-wing faction. Sadly, it is not the party I joined.

Someone doesn't understand the flags are up for the State Opening Parliament - a ceremony that goes back 100s of years at the heart of our Parliamentary democracy & absolutely nothing to do with the EU! It is a shame that too many in our country seem ashamed of our national flag.

This is getting desperate. But you know what. This is likely to be the most important decision any of us in Parliament vote on. Plenty of other public servants such as doctors/police work over Christmas. If this is the price of doing what is right for our country bring it on.

I'm pretty sure the UK was not part of the EU 1844. If they managed to live in Italy back then I'm confident it will still be possible after March 29th.

I keep being asked what #Dickens would have made of #Brexit. Charles & Catherine Dickens took their family to live in #Genoa, #Italy for a year (in 1844-1845) – something Brits will no longer be able to do after 29 March. #travel.

A pleasure to welcome our PM to #RoyalCornwallShow today. Despite all that's been going on, amazing to witness positive response & so many wanting to talk to the PM. @BorisJohnson has already delivered amazing support for our Duchy & there is no doubt he will continue to do so

Tony expresses what people in Cornwall are telling me every day. The debate was had in 2016. We do not need to rerun the arguments. The country made a decision and it's time to #GetBrexitDone.

It doesn’t matter why I voted to leave, I don’t have to justify my decision, I don’t have to prove I’m a decent person. I had the right to vote, there were two choices. When the votes were added more people voted to leave - that’s the only justification we need to leave the EU.

@Simon4NDorset I have had precisely the opposite experience. People stopping me in the street urging me to stand strong against the deal. On the doors vast majority don't see this deal as a proper Brexit. Virtually no one wants this deal. I guess constituencies are different.

Interesting meeting with local party members last night. Strong feelings about Brexit & anger at those in our party trying to stop us leaving. Delighted they unanimously re-adopted me as their candidate whenever the next election might be. So grateful for their amazing support.

I do think we are on the verge of seriously losing the plot. We will be left with nothing of our culture if we end up banning songs such as Swing Low. It's the road to nowhere.

So “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”, celebrating the Underground Railway, written AFTER the Civil War by a freed slave, made popular by the African American Fisk Jubilee Singers, sung at many black funerals and civil rights demonstrations, honoured by Congress, now to be banned.
