Mine and the Mrs 6 month anniversary today and we’re both working frontline me for

Something that maybe all operational ambulance staff should do? Regular fitness assessment to make sure your still fit and capable of doing the job physically? 🤔🤔🤔
#controversial
Did you know? Our crew members undertake regular fitness training for operational readiness🏋️♂️
As well as gyms at the base, we also come together for circuit training and support each other to be ready to fight to save lives 💪

Proud to be a small cog in a large multi-agency response to flooding today caused by storm Dennis. Deployed as part of SORT to work alongside our HART teams and other agencies. Well done everyone and stay safe those working through the night 👍👍👍
Started my NHS journey as a health care assistant working in hospital wards 18years later and now a paramedic but still know how to make a hospital bed… with hospital corners may I add 😂😁😁🏥🚑
Celebration night tonight my beautiful and amazing girlfriend has landed a new job as Trauma Practitioner for aneurin bevan healthboard one of only 2 they are the first for the board. Mega proud of you baby 😍😍😍
SR8505 tucked up after a productive day. Days like today remind me why I love this job. When you have a patient having a MI that is evolving and then arrests on you and crew but after one shock and short period of CPR you get a ROSC pt delivered to PPCI GCS 15 =result 👍🚑🚑
First use on the
@MangarInt
Camel on the RRV today, great piece of kit meaning me working as a solo responder once assessed can safely assist people from the floor, without the need of another member of staff. Safe for both the patient and staff as no manual lifting required 👍👍
Scene set for final exercise of the
@WelshAmbulance
medical response team training (mrt) extrication of a unconscious patient from a crowd in a nightclub or concert 👍👍
Always a pleasure to work alongside
@EmrtsWales
but twice in one night is a bit beyond 😂😂 always greatful for the assistance and additional skills and knowledge brought by a great team 🚁🚁
Great 2 days teaching, and welcome to the 15 new recruits to
@WelshAmbulance
medical response team (MRT) look forward to seeing you use the skills learnt on deployments. 👍👍🚑🚑
After our 18hr

Another very successful

@Wast_CRU
well done everyone 👍👍🚑🚑🚲🚲🚲
Thanks for
@BASICS_SCAS
and Jamie for letting me tag along on yesterdays rather wet shift 🌧️. Was a valuable learning experience, and great to see the work of such a valuable charity and see how different

A clean truck is a happy a truck a happy truck is a happy crew not to mention a safer crew these chevrons aren’t just for aesthetics but part of keeping crews safe on scene at incidents and in the winter months usually need a good clean every 24hrs.

A very successful night shift the other night, 5 jobs, (1 red got on scene in 3 min) 100% non-conveyance rate, had 2 breaks AND finished on time. All discharged with significant safety netting and/or referred onto other services after discussion with fellow HCP. 🚑🚑
Love being a paramedic, and what a mixed week this week has been, from normal frontline ambulance shifts, to university day, a enhanced care observer shift for
@BASICS_SCAS
, and top it off with a
@WastMrt
shift as team leader. Always enjoy my job and take every chance to learn.
Not nice being on the opposite side of the fence but massive thanks to the A

lastnight, that chest pain that I was trying to say was muscular turned out to be pericarditis 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ oh well home for rest now.
@Drtmr
you got a great bunch in there. 👍👍
Well despite a very busy shift yesterday we managed to have a 2nd break so decided to treat our new truck to a quick clean to keep it all nice and shiny. Fair play I think we got the best trucks out there, never want to change to some lesser capable vehicles some have got 😂🏴🚑
Another Great MRT deployment for
@WelshAmbulance
in cardiff today all though a bit cold at the end great team of
@hedges_will
steve Magee and Tom. Well done all 👍👍🚑🚑
@LeeMcLaren11
In 🏴 im glad to say that we still use it, have to prove competency through maintaining an airway log if all airway interventions and if not been able to do 2 real ETI in a month then all stations have an airway doll and can carry out SIM instead. 2 per month minimum.
Such a great privilege to be involved in such a historical event, working with amazing colleagues from WAST, LAS and SJA, Feet and shoulders are still a bit achey this morning. But we’ll worth it, we’ll done to everyone involved.
@_GlennGbPhoto
Surely that’s the best time to hug when your in full PPE? People need to get a life. Keep up the good work and think people need to see the heartbreaking photo to give them a reality check. Well done glen 👍👍👍
Great shift yesterday in cardiff, and a first having 2
@WastMrt
teams deployed to cover the match and busy nighttime economy. Great to be back out boots on the ground. Saving A&E attendances and cutting demand on WAST operational crews. Well done all.
@CP_Ash
How about people like police specials, RNLI, mountain rescue, BASICS responders, list goes on, volunteering has always been a strong backbone in Britain and do nothing but encourage it.
Watching
#coastguardsearchandrescue
working with ambulance crew, on a boat on a live working dock yard and the ambulance crew have apart from a life jacket on they have no other PPE, no hi vis no helmets, HMCG all have hi-vis and helmets, well done HMCG, shame on the 🚑 crew.
Well first job of the shift-
Cardiac arrest=

Yet another example of Medical First Responders and the benefits that they bring, as well as additional use of the good Sam app. Hopefully early activation of the chain of survival will bring a positive patient outcome.

#Paramedic
Medical first responders. Responding to incidents providing gold standard care to the community, lots to be learnt we’ve got a massive cohort of staff that would give up by here time to provide care to there wider community.
So excited to see the first batches of our Response Bags being issued to
@AmbulanceNAS
‘Off Duty’ staff. Our partnership with NAS will see new responders becoming active across the country, responding to emergencies in their local communities. Donations do save lives
Awww last shift with student Laura (aka super noodles) today and seeing as it’s December we’ve decided today our truck is going to be the Christmas 🚑 hats and xmas music 🎄🎄. Enjoy being a mentor and helping guiding the future of the service.
Great day training alongside
@EmrtsWales
amazing to see what extra capabilities and insight these great bunch of clinicians can bring to an incident 🚑🚁🚁
Before and after giving my 2nd year student a trauma OSCE. Started off as fallen from roof unconscious then arrested so HOTT principles applied. Discussing airway management and team resource management and how to manage cognitive overload. Also need to work on scene clean 😂😂
Well an early 0600 start today, same colour uniform different badge and different truck. 🚑🚑. Great being a paramedic and getting to work in different areas and see different things and see how others work. Let’s see what the next 12 hours brings.
What an amazing day of CPD training with

looking at how we can work together to provide excellent patient care. Amazing bunch of officers and medics thanks

@MedicMiddle
So glad WAST are keeping this and being proactive with ensuring we log and maintain skills with minimum of 2 tubes a month either in real life or sim must be carried out and logged
@Fergal_D5
Surely by being outside the cycle lane your forcing other road users in to the other lane regardless if oncoming traffic or not, if you were single file and in the cycle lane they wouldn’t be forced to do it. Cycle lanes are there to keep cyclist and other road users safe use it
@DomJudge999
Had a paed fatality local to our station, my self and one other attended the funeral on the outskirts. For me gave me a bit of closure as it shock me a bit as I have children the same age. I think if you feel that it will help you, then that’s more important.
Responded to my first

this evening arrived before crew luckily incident not as given but assisted crew in assessment and moving patient to the vehicle before clearing. Good job all around
Hospital delays suck…. But at least I get some time to do some studying for my PHTLS course in July. I May as well make use of my time and be productive.
Emergency supplies of
@coffee_triple
packed in the kit bag ready for todays shift, loving the sample pack just can’t decide which one I like most, oh well just have to keep trying them 😂😂😂
Everyday is a school day and being a paramedic means going out and learning and pushing yourself and trying new things. Today attended a critical care transfer course and really enjoyed it learned about unfamiliar kit and also saw things from hospital view point and all the prep
@JujuliaGrace
Private ambulance companies have been around for decades I work NHS and private and there is often no difference. All private providers are CQC registered and even had outstanding reviews which in some cases are better inspections then the NHS trust they work for.

31 miles in a shift 😂😂😂 good thing there not doing it based on wales trucks when we can cover anything from 100-180 miles in a shift. 31 miles can be just one job for most. Go to powys and probably Even more lol. Get on board raise some well needed funds.
Looking for a new fitness challenge this winter? 👋
We're calling on Londoners to beat the 31 miles ambulances cover in a shift and raise money for our Charity!
Anyone can take part - swim, cycle, hand-cycle or ride anything self-propelled

Not just a UK problem it’s an even a problem on the other side of the world. What’s the answer what’s the solution?? It’s not a quick or easy fix. Is it public education? Is it more hospitals? Who knows but we need to mitigate the risks for those waiting in the community.
On 27 Dec there was significant ramping across Adelaide. Tragically a 54 yo male in Hectorville passed away after waiting >10hrs for an ambulance to arrive. This highlights the upmost importance of EDs clearing ramped ambulances to respond to the community 💔.

Home from a SCAS shift today and today got presented with my covid response coin. It’s only a small gesture but it does go along way esspecially when things are still so tough and getting tougher. Thanks
@scas
Medical responding is growing, such a great idea being done in different ways in different areas. There’s a pool of staff who could be vital not just for life threatening calls but maybe even the lower calls to be able to get a clinician on scene and assessed and treatment start.
We’re incredibly excited to announce that we, the College of Paramedics have been awarded the Charter of Incorporation by His Majesty King Charles III 👑

Great resource from
@GWAAC
, priority on this minimal on scene time and transport to a MTC and carry out other interventions enroute. One of the few jobs that require diesel dare I say it. Stab wounds are tricky don’t be misled by a small wound, behind it can be catastrophic
