@nqpcharlie 999 ambulancea can take patients home. I've done it & seen it done by experienced clinicians. Case by case, but if discharging on scene and leave patient in unsafe (for them, not necessarily a generally unsafe place, but not safe for that individual) then trip to local home is OK

@cameronponsonby @rdhowells Problem with adding extra day at short notice is the staff you need to book, suppliers needed etc which is really hard to do at <18 hours notice. I know as I run event staffing company and it can be a nightmare as staff are often booked elsewhere at short notice

@donotcallmemike @em_bulance And PTS are, in most areas, unable to take Obs and less skilled (vital role though it is, I started on PTS and it's hugely important) so not always suited to doing amits to ED.

@em_bulance Also have to consider that GP/Practice Nurse etc has (likely) a full list of other PTs all with appointment slots, can the surgery afford to delay these people by (potentially) hours whilst waiting for Ambo to arrive if not actively treating/monitoring PT whilst waiting.
