Yesterday marked one year since me and my family laid my brother Evan to rest. He died due to a heroin overdose, from a dose that would not have been fatal to a regular user according to the coroner.

And that is fantastic and commendable. However the vast majority of landlords are not like yours and it is now extremely unlikely that anyone on 3 jobs would be approved for a mortgage these days, much less be able to save due to rising cost of living.

Would an overdose prevention centre have helped him? Sadly he isn't here to answer that question.
What we do know is that they work to prevent death and that the people who access them are hugely in favour of the services and pathways they provide, whether they are using or not.

There is an attitude that to be deserving of help someone should be in the process of stopping their use of drugs - that never worked for Evan and if anything put up more barriers.

The Tories have caused this mess of drug deaths across the UK through impoverishment leading to addiction, heavy handed drugs policing that destroys families, massive cuts to NHS services and a failure to acknowledge the evidence for major drug policy reform.
It makes me angry..
Two years ago, Nicola Sturgeon admitted to taking her 'eye of the ball' on Scotland's drugs deaths - but now deaths are on the rise again.
Our Right to Recovery Bill would guarantee treatment for those who need it and is backed by frontline experts. The SNP should back it too.

Yep never gets discussed properly - i lived under a short term let for a time and it was the single worst living experience of my life. Loud parties, constant confrontations with guests when we asked them to keep it quiet, police not even bothering to attend - it was horrific!
