In 2014, I talked Scotland down. It was wrong. I’m sorry. I was a Better Together spokesperson. I’ve changed my mind. Scotland has a wonderful future ahead if we become independent. We need a new referendum. Scotland has to choose her path. It is happening.

When I first met Nicola Sturgeon in her 20s as a lawyer she was the embodiment of an #Indy Scotland. I wasn’t. We got on and I loved her passion. The FM is in it to win it. I fought for the UK. I’ve changed my mind and have went No to Yes. I trust her judgment. I trust Nicola.

I’m not a Scottish nationalist. For all former No voters like me it’s important to realise that self determination for Scotland isn’t about nationalism. It’s about common sense. I’m a Scottish pragmatist. We have to be better, kinder and fairer to people. All people.

A flag is a symbol. Those flying the Saltire in Edinburgh want Scotland to be better, kinder, fairer. A country that includes all races and religions, and those with none. A country that doesn’t need food banks. A country that sets her own destiny. That’s a flag worth flying.

Needs to be said. Independence for Scotland has nothing to do with nationalism, tartan or Brigadoon. Scotland wants to govern itself. It’s what all countries around the world do. We can do better running our own affairs. It ain’t nationalist, nationalism, or populism.

We have an impasse with #Brexit because large swathes of England and Wales want out of the EU at any cost, while most people in Scotland and Northern Ireland are Europeans. The end game for Scotland has to be independence.

I’m sorry, I appreciate that the Scottish Parliament votes for FMs. But there comes a time when we can’t have a tiny minority of 129 people deciding who the FM is after various post holders have resigned. We need a General Election.

All countries operate deficits from time to time. Question is do you think Scotland could do better running her own affairs as an independent country? Another decade of austerity, incompetence & hostility to the undeserving poor under Johnson? Or trust in the people of Scotland?

Remain in the House as part of the establishment, abstain for Scotland and sit on the fence over #Brexit while waxing lyrical about Karl Marx in the abstract. As authentic as an Irish pub in Dubai.

A ridiculous display of sanctimonious petulance by the SNP at #PMQs . They have given up a chance to have an emergency debate on devolution tomorrow and 5 chances to challenge the PM. Labour MPs will remain in the House of Commons to represent our constituents in #EUWithdrawalBill

An independent Scotland must be a Republic. Otherwise we aren't independent. Line in the sand.

So much faux outrage swirling around the Scottish Parliament debate whether to keep the European Union’s flag 🇪🇺 flying at Holyrood. It’s a proxy for Scotland’s relation with the EU. It’s a metaphor for the fact 62% of Scots want to stay in the EU. It’s about our future.

I say this with a very heavy heart. If @10DowningStreet allows us to leave the EU with no deal and vulnerable people across the UK cannot access vital medicines or supplies and people are grievously injured or die, those Ministers must be held responsible under the rule of law.

I'm not a member of any political party. I want change in my city of Glasgow and that for me that means voting for Labour @Malcolm4Linn and @AnasSarwar .
