My LCS that I’ve haunted since the 90’s is closing for good in about a week. Final big sale is ALL comics are $1. The irony that I paid cover price for this one was noted. Loved the long box I carried out yesterday, but would give up all the boxes I own for my LCS to stay open.

What is your favorite “start and stop” character? That is, a character that gets their own book, it gets cancelled, and then a few years later they have their own book again, but that gets cancelled…..and so on. Conan? Doc Savage? Red Sonja? Hawkman? Godzilla?

Out of the 1600+ films I’ve rated on IMDb, I’ve only given 25 a perfect score of 10. This is one of them. It was another first watch for Linda and she enjoyed it as well. Love all the scenes, but the ice wagon one might be my favorite.

My LCS manager handed me these today! They are an extra set (1 of 3) that his grandfather left him, who always kept extra copies of REH stories to hand out for free to new fans. His grandson continues his tradition. So kind of him and I am very thankful to add them to my shelf.

My very first exposure to the Uni-Monsters on film. As a kid I remember sneaking out of bed one night and turned on the tv. As the tubes warmed I was greeted by Wolfie battling Frankie. Seconds later these two monsters were swept away by waves. Roll credits. Mind blown.

In ‘54 the term “space ranger” was used for the first time (?) for the Rocky Jones tv show. DC in ‘58 used it for their sci-fi hero Space Ranger (Rick Starr). Buzz (others?) followed. Just read the reprint of Showcase 15 with Starr’s first appearance. Dig his secret hideout.

Comic question. What is a comic that eluded you, or still does, that was not a “super high” key, but just a pain to track down at a fair price and or finding it in the wild. Here are a few I ran into over the years:
