My one regret in Smash 4 was not appreciating ZeRo enough for his gameplay in tournaments and not understanding why he was so dominant. I'm seeing the same for other people with Leo these days and I get it now. It's so sad.

Brawl Veteran: I think Steve's situation is very comparable to Meta Knight when you add in other aspects of what makes Steve strong in other levels of the game even though he's nowhere as dominant.

Look I get it that people want some stages legal to be that quirky guy in the room but Gimr ran an invitational with said wacky stages and the best talent in the world collectively ignored your pleas and gentlemans to the PS2 every game.

I've heard people on every level give some tired input about egos/gatekeeping in NA when the simple answer to why Japan is better is actually just infrastructure. And credit to where credit is due, Japanese TOs worked hard to get to where they are right now.

OK LAST THING ABOUT THIS. I've been doing overlays since I've ran locals. I didn't boot someone off budget because I wanted some top player to come, I've always done this.
This is some bizarre energy coming from what the conversation should just be that I need better overlays.

I just accepted a position for a job finally. They still have to conduct background checks but I basically am done signing papers and it's all but done.
It was less explosive and ceremonious than I thought it would be but I felt a massive weight just erased from my shoulders.

I have a few shoutouts to give for a successful weekend but the first goes out to the entire Midwest smash scene at Diamond Dust. Almost every single top player that was invited was amazed by our hospitality and vibe of our culture. You guys are great people, don't forget that.

A lot of the culture is still very anti gaming and to that end the TOs had to be strict about time management generate good faith with venue owners. Stuff like cleaning up and potentially ending early just so they won't lose their space. It was actually a Herculean effort.

I played DnD with a friend DM that was just not good at creating a good narrative. Like it seems cool to just let it be the boys but at some point you want to play a real game. Having someone with experience leads to good banter between the players while also enjoying the game.
