2017x has very little but from what can be inferred so far - he believes he is Sonic, and will only begin to act out to those who don't believe he's Sonic.
He picks out victims using their false sense of security around a clear imposter, using the hero's likeness as a flytrap.

And Dreamwalker takes this concept far more literally, an aspect unseen from the hero - taking him over from the inside.
Kirby's forced to watch through eyes that no longer belong to him, as Dreamwalker destroys the world he fought to keep safe USING Kirby to do so.

2017x imo has clear canon inspirations noted from mephiles. the ashy appearance, the distorted features - like with mephiles, both reflect the characters theyre impersonating but only to an extent.

shadow's mouth being gone from mephiles worked due to shadow's stoic nature - with sonic, his smile is a defining feature, while his hands and feet due to speed could be a blur.
