A team who was shown to have deliberately cheated for a performance advantage (which was penalised a dozen times today) is allowed to keep the win and the watches for @Rolex24Hours but a worn skid block means you lose the win AND have to give the trophy back.

The most amazing thing about this is that the residents clearly don't know or don't care that the circuit profits go into the County coffers which, in effect, subsidise the local tax burden. It has directly contributed a huge amount of cash, aside from the income from visitors.
The Highway 68 Coalition, a group of nearby property owners, has filed a legal complaint against Laguna Seca. The group is suing to end racing entirely, arguing that the circuit doesn’t abide by environmental ordinances, they claim the circuit is “a public nuisance".

Sad news when we arrived @RoadAtlanta yesterday. The voice of Road Atlanta and Road America, Ed Conway died on Tuesday lunchtime. He was a true gentleman and such a positive influence to so many, including me. PLM was a favourite event of his. This one is for you Mr Conway

Murray Walker's commentary for the BBC radio & TV was supremely professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, entertaining & unique, except of course, for when Murray picked up a mic anytime, which was identical. I had the honour of sharing a comms box with him - a true gentleman.

It all started here. @RoadAtlanta is as much a part of my life as Le Mans. This will be my 25th attending, & 24th time calling the race. So many memories, so many friends. So much passion and enthusiasm at this event, right from 1998, an instant classic. Thank you Dr Panoz.

Don't blame RB or Max, but there are at least two questionable interpretation s of regulations in what happend at the end. That's not fair to Red Bull, Max, AMG, Lewis and frankly all of us as fans. More poor/ inconsistent decisions from the Race Director. Shame for everyone.

We all know Porsche Customer Racing is pretty squared away to support their teams. That said for Jota to perform so well with a car they had for barely a week is impressive. Perhaps the biggest compliment to Jota is that it's exactly what most of us expected to happen.
Solid first weekend in Hypercar! Done everything we needed & got through the race with barely any issues. Amazing job all weekend by our engineers and mechanics to be able to achieve that so a massive thanks to them 👏🏻 now time to analyse and find some magic for Le Mans!

And there's the rub. Lots of OEMs - good right?. Well yes, but. But? Why, but?. They can't all be winners, not even once a season each with 8 races. So can't "justify" the cost and leave. For me, endurance racing is about much more than winning. Stay, compete, improve.
