Small but important point: it doesn’t need to cost much to sound TREAT a space. It costs a hell of a lot to soundPROOF a space. Sound treatment = the control of reflections and reverb in a space. Sound proofing = preventing sound from being heard from in or outside of a space
It doesn't take much to soundproof a space. And the bare minimum of studio-adequate gear is about $5-600. Great results are achievable on a budget.
And studios are still necessary because $600 can REALLY make or break someone, but walking into a real studio only costs gas.
