I know rule number 7 is being spoken about keeping Dhoni in mind. But Rajasthan Royals can actually pull off a smart coup and keep an all-phase seamer in Sandeep Sharma for 4 Cr. He last played an international match in 2015 #IPLRetention

Shoutout to the curators. Excellent decks and good on the Indian think-tank to not tilt towards bunsens. The temptation would have been there in the absence of some seniors and after the first Test but glad it wasn't the case. No unrealistic pitch narratives either #INDvsENG

It's funny how everything is tried and tested between T20 World Cups and eventually it's almost the same batting lineup that takes the field. India should have gone in with a fresh team sans any baggage for the T20 WC imo. Virat's best spot is as opener but... #INDvAFG

Anchoring disease is a systematic problem of Indian cricket. Our system doesn't value 45(22), they need 50 (40) and 600 run season for selection. Until the process of selection changes, anchoring will continue.

Lack of consistency has been an issue with KL, no doubt. The rope isn't thin either and it is on the verge of snapping. Yet as someone pointed out yesterday, some context must be added. Dhawan was (with due respect) a walking wicket outside the SC and Mayank's technical 1/n

Neither was a miscalculation IMO. Always better to use your best bowlers one over early than one over too late based on the equation. Had Hardik torn into Nawaz in the 15th or 16th over the game might have been done in the 19th. That would have been a miscalculation #AsiaCup2022

@NotTheDarkBlade @gurkiratsgill Will be the biggest cardinal sin to leave SKY out. It's a selection quandary, no doubt, but SKY's arguably the best T20 bat in the country right now. His pace game has gone from strength to strength and he owns spin. Maps it with intent of the highest order

@KOCricket528 Couple of others too - Chawla (thanks for pointing it out @hblahmed ), Mishra, Mohit. But realistically, it's only Sandeep who'd perhaps be retained if RR think along those lines. Lack of all-phase Indian seamers at the auctions is a big factor

That ramp - Sarfaraz was clearly anticipating the short one. He was mentally ready for it. If Mark Wood is frustrated, it tells you how good those two boundaries were. A very rare sight to see Wood frustrated! #INDvsENG

An innings completed in 90 minutes. Beyond my wildest dreams to see something like that over the last couple of months. This 60-second turnaround rule is gold #ENGvPAK

For someone whose teammates regard a great leader, this is anything but what you'd expect of a leader. Ponting made mistakes at DC but Ganguly was part of the setup himself. You'd expect a sense of accountability but this is unprofessional and distasteful #CricketTwitter

Seeing Ryan Burl tweet so much about that 34-run over brings a smile on my face. I remember his gut-wrenching tweet last year about the lack of sponsors for proper shoes for his team and here he is - one of the heroes of a historic series win. Lovely sight! #ZIMvBAN

Jadeja also retires from T20Is. Wise move bowing out on a high much like Rohit and Virat. He's not getting any younger - he's invaluable to the Test setup and must be around in the format for as long as possible #T20WorldCup #CricketTwitter

half-baked. Yes, he hasn't hammered the door down for good and is definitely walking on thin ice with Gill waiting in the wings. But the justification of why he should be left out has to carry a valid reason and not just comparison with numbers for the sake of it #CricketTwitter

Don't know whose decision it is but out goes a fine T20 strategist. They've a good team but have made a number of appalling decisions these two years. But I find it hard to believe Flower was the reason going by the sound method in the other franchises he coaches #CricketTwitter

chink against swing was exposed in South Africa. He sadly didn't grab his chances in NZ and Australia either. KL had a fine series in England and showed great application in SA too with his off stump awareness having improved. So the comparisons with numbers on face value are 2/n

Held up Bashir's visa? India never 'held up' Bashir's visa. The ECB weren't prompt enough to apply in advance when the regulations were absolute. They messed up Rehan's case too when he traveled back from the UAE on a single-entry visa

Kieron Pollard and Mumbai Indians - one of the strongest associations a franchise has had with an overseas player. Not surprised to see him continue in a coaching capacity but this is truly the end of an era. You can see the bond between the two entities here #IPL2023

Such a sporting pitch but if this sends the management into panic mode and a rank turner awaits in the coming Tests, they're only shooting themselves in the foot. The batters have been ordinary today, a lottery pitch will only make it worse #INDvENG

We're probably never going to see Ashwin as a commentator in the IPL. Initially at least. No team will want to let this kind of ball knowledge and eye for talent go. He's definitely getting into a franchise's coaching setup once he's done playing #IPL2024

One aspect in which Jemimah is clearly a cut above the rest of the batters in the team is strike rotation. Very few dots and she has played a masterful innings today while battling the humidity. The use of the sweep has been in particular has been outstanding! #INDvAUS
