@sensitive_bore in the US context those tropes of feminized oppressive forces (the "nanny state," Huck Finn's fear that Aunt Polly will "sivilize" him, the juxtaposition of the female politician vs. the cowboy, etc) are always in contrast to the feminized "virgin" land that must be dominated
