when she was gone Mike called every day 353 days. when moving to California El got letters and a walkie. Will got a few phone calls and third wheeled during his visit. ithink thats telling who Mike misses more, who he is attached to more.

Mike finding out on his own wouldnt make sense. either he finds out from Will about the truth of the painting or doesnt find out at all
no what I'm saying is Will will never directly confess to Mike ever. he has conveyed his feelings in the way he deemed the best. and I don't care if mike is clueless, he will find out about the painting. that's a clear plot line set up. Mike has to and will intiate everything.

Mike’s actions and behavior prior are the proof he loves El, but fine, I’ll atleast admit him saying it when she was dying could have been done under pressure, I don’t believe it but it’s possible. Also imo the love at first sight was a retcon or poor writing like 99% of vol 2
