I agree with you on a lot of things. But time is REMARKABLY hard and fucks with a lot of perfectly happy working systems. It’s not as bad as identity, but time is remarkably tricky sometimes.
@FrankMcG
From the gaming perspective, because that’s another community I’m familiar with, similar is said about what happens if Gabe Newell (GabeN!) passes on or sells the company.
@manfightdragon
I’m excited because when it completely flops, goes on severe clearance, gets hacked / jailbroken, it’ll be a really solid Steam Link in home device.
@Cpl_Dont_Know
I know this isn't the real takeaway here, but it's surprisingly hard to get people to understand that waste is very normal and pretty much unavoidable with any sort of hope to remain labor efficient.
@FrankMcG
You’ll own nothing and be grateful really is apparently supposed to be a thing.
Law really needs to catch up to modern licensing garbage. It should be illegal that my Steam library technically perishes if I do.

Kills me that the links to the OG blogs don’t redirect, it’s half impossible to find them in that archive, so most of the time I end up using the wayback machine to get the goods. Then vehemently say less than benevolent things about MS for not fixing what they broke. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@Cpl_Dont_Know
Okay, so, as a (somewhat) competent DIY'er that knows his limitations, I'd probably ask (nicely) for that for my scrap wood pile that I will totally use someday™️
@OfficialPCMR
Yeah, I’m betting CDPR will actually fix the game vs. Bethesda waiting for the fans to mod and fix things. Or just not fix it as in the case of FO77.
@benjamin_bdj
Wowwwwww. I just googled. Wow. As someone that did go to college I firmly believe if I did a tenth of that, I would have been shamed out of the campus immediately.
@RaidAway
@raratoman
It costs nothing to uninstall all the CoD games and just walk away from a broken franchise till they learn that if they SELL THE TITLE THEY NEED TO SUPPORT THE TITLE. Also their shadowban system is so broken it’s a joke.

Yes, but then you have a use case for it. And an exception. And who DOESN’T like discovering that dependency in the middle of a busy production work week when reality seems intent on showing you this dire requirement by rending itself apart. Sincerely, A slightly grumpy SysAdmin

This is like the third variation today. I’m not in any way associated with
@valvesoftware
but, and I really mean this, go away with this garbage. Just go away.

I appreciate it, but one of the fundamentals in keeping vulnerable pops safe is allowing them to defend themselves and keeping them from being a soft target in the first place. Decrease firearms restrictions, and encourage GOOD training and safety. Let us help ourselves safely.
@MLilywall
@antumbral
Protection can also mean not allowing the productivity of the employable population to drop through addiction and frivolous spending on nothing tangible.
@azuread
Because you hate consistency, especially in naming, and this also helps all non-Microsoft documentation stay permanently outdated or harder to find?
Because you likely asked no actual customer about this in a non-leading way?
Because your marketing team bonuses on it?
@jerrycurld
I, for one have little concern over the pilots, flight crew, any of that. But it sure seems like a lot of maintenance has been decoupled by way of outsourcing and lack of verification of process adherence.
@Voultar
Discord is one of the worst things to happen to technical discussion, as well as the aggregation / indexing of those discussions that has occurred in recent memory.
@editingemily
I quite adore interviewing people for technical stuff to be honest. I’m perfectly nice, and never the angry jerk quiz interviewing type, but I have a very decent BS detector. And asking nice simple, exploratory questions is devastatingly effective.

Please stop disarming normal everyday folks. We need to be able to defend ourselves from the people that are even worse, and want to visit violence upon the innocent without spewing hateful warning.
Provide good quality, free defensive firearm training. Not required, encouraged.
