No, it's called a reluctance to import potential terrorists and Hamas members. We've all seen the images of the supposed "civilians" and what they did on Oct 7th and how they celebrated the wanton murder and torture of the hostages. Fuck your false equivalence. Refugees from Ukraine are not the same as importing Hamas from Gaza. Make yourself legally culpable to face the same penalties as anyone brought over from Gaza who goes on to commit a crime and then maybe we can talk.

@ThatAlexWoman Here's one, stop legally classifying pepper spray the same as a machine gun (section 1 offensive weapon) and allow them to be carried as a self defense option. It's non lethal, can stop an attacker long enough to get away to safety and causes no long lasting damage

@Westydoodah @justdave89now How very Labour to ignore actual facts and rely once again on pure ideology! It is you my friend who is displaying your partisan bias, party above people. How very Marxist of you π Ultimately, I don't really care what you think Margaret. Tata π

@Westydoodah @justdave89now I'd hardly say Lib Dems, SNP, Reform or the Tories all share the same political view... Yet on this they are united against a singular labour vision. How very labour to ignore evidence. Not like they don't have a track record of ignoring evidence to achieve their agenda!

Not changing my statement at all. Labour have the figures wrong, full fact have analysed based on the gov figures and come to the same conclusion as Gov. All farming organisations, and every other political party including the SNP and Lib Dems are saying the labour figures are wrong, so it is in fact disputed. I perhaps shouldn't have called it biased, that was a mistake on my part. But the fact remains, this is a destructive policy by labour, they can claim it's to go after the Dysons of the world, but they're cracking a walnut with a sledgehammer and refusing to see sense.

@Westydoodah @justdave89now No, you gave a biased post parroting the labour line. This is disputed and every farming organisation agrees that labour have it wrong.

Yes, IHT is inherently unfair and should be scrapped for everyone. It is the duty of any good parent to provide a better future for their children than they had. I've paid tax on everything I've earned since I started working at 16, so what I have now (admittedly minor) is for me to do with as I please and that includes passing it on to MY children. It is not for the gov to steal from them when I die.

@Westydoodah @justdave89now No it doesn't, that's just more lies from an incompetent labour government. And nobody should pay IHT. It needs scrapping for everyone π

@Negatrev @PhilipProudfoot Unless they HQ offshore for tax hedging, so less tax taken than a family farm pays directly to HMRC. All that being said, IHT needs scrapping for everyone. Nobody should have to pay the death tax.

Owning too much?? A small 200 acre farm is tiny, the very definition of a family farm and generates an average profit to the farmer of around Β£27k per year. The IHT bill on that amount of land is 400k over ten years or 40k per year. Do you not see the problem? Labour are destroying farming in this country and dressing it up for gullible fools as "going after the rich" when in reality, they're orchestrating the biggest land grab for their grifting rich mates like Dale Vince, Bill Gates and BlackRock. Corrupt to the core.

No, it's about transferring land ownership to corporations and developers that are beholden to the state eg Dale Vince. Labour have already said, "farmers will have to learn to do more with less" and that they should "diversify" their business to stay profitable so how is this about making farms valuable solely as a business once more? And if it's not about the money gained, then why go down this path of destruction to begin with. Your mate Phil seems to think it's all about the money...

@real_dennis_d @RhonaHarker @justdave89now IHT relief was a tax exemption, not a loophole, and was there for a damn good reason, to prevent the loss of farming in the UK. You originally stated they don't pay taxes, you have not proved your statement.π

@PhilipProudfoot The estimated Β£500m in revenue would fund the NHS for about a day, but destroy farming forever. Typical leftist mentality.

@PhilipProudfoot Everyone should fight to avoid paying the death tax. The farmers are just leading the charge to get this reprehensible tax revoked.

@RhonaHarker @qanxsterbob @justdave89now No, they really aren't. Two very different topics, so false equivalence. Thanks for playing though π

@RhonaHarker @real_dennis_d @justdave89now Like I said to the other guy, post your evidence they don't pay taxes, otherwise you're spouting nonsensical conjecture π
