@OilyWhisper68 @HakethKOTB yuuuup I think it is incredibly important however to mention that the English language fandom received a ton of outreach from MENA fans who thought this whole thing was Fucking Stupid, and the overwhelming fandom sentiment was “the government officials are fucking stupid”

@HakethKOTB thank you 😭 and uh yeah, that one rogue animator for volume 4 sure filled in nonsense text with something culturally insensitive at best and it got discovered later which Did Not Go Well (although as someone who was a fan at the time, actual fans from that region were mortified)

@BaruCafe They explain the bare bones of it under the reception subheading (controversy), but this went so badly that multiple countries threatened to pull diplomatic relations with Japan over it. (actual fans from the region thought it was stupid though lmao!!)

@ReidianceVA thank you, this made me cry I do still have a spare set of this that’s much less valuable dollar wise but much more valuable sentimentally and I’m nowhere near desperate enough to sell my Junichi Hayama Jotaro yet, but letting the nice box set go… yeah. it’s hard

@PBRedMango yeah, eBay thinks the correct median price for volume 1 only is $18 but the correct median price for the entire series set is $800 (and I’m desperate enough that I’m not letting it go for less than the median price)

@PBRedMango yeah I can confirm my other copies of 4-6 are misaligned but in different ways! and of course the rarest volume is the one with the. incident.

@staroddity yeah literally the ONLY reason I’m pulling the trigger on selling the OVA box set is that *I have two copies of the OVA* (and the second one, while not being the box set, has so many damn sentimental memories attached, so I’d rather offload the more valuable one)
