Tess was a postdoc (and an amazing colleague to work with!) at @UDELDRC @UDBidenSchool @udceoe but her fieldwork was in SC - leading to her current job at @Citadel1842 and a reminder that we often do our best work when we're working somewhere we love (photos by Tess w permiss)

US #ManagedRetreat policies + funding do not meet community needs. Many reforms are needed from Congress + HUD, FEMA, UDSA, USACE. Here are 13 recs I discuss at the @EESIonline briefing w/ @sruffoocean @ProfRobinCraig and Lydia Olander @NichInstitute. 🧵Add your thoughts & recs!

Catching up on 2024: Thanks to @CMU_CEE for hosting me this fall: "Exploring the Role of Humans in Civil & Environmental Systems.” We need far more efforts like this to train students in #interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary respect! CMU has an incredible community.

@JessicaWeinkle @katharine_mach @_miyukihino @UNC_IE @MiamiRosenstiel @UDELDRC @UDelaware @udceoe @OUPAcademic that's an interesting angle! interviewees talked about the role committees play, but as implementers not accountability statistically, mitigation planning committees correlate with bigger share of new housing in floodplains (probably committee created bc of higher exposure)
