It is unacceptable that these employers will stop paying locum doctors for breaks, despite providing no mechanism to ensure these breaks are bleep free or uninterrupted. Substantive staff are paid for breaks. This is unfair and exploitative.
We are deeply disappointed that @RWT_NHS and @WalsallHcareNHS have chosen to remove paid breaks for locum doctors, ignoring strong opposition from LNC reps earlier this month. Doctors are already overworked and underpaid. We call for an immediate reversal of this decision.

Paying a departing CEO £180K while cutting doctors’ pay to meet financial recovery needs is a slap in the face to those holding the NHS together. It’s clear where this trust’s priorities lie, and it’s not with its doctors.
The trust that slashed doctors’ pay to “save costs” has handed out hundreds of thousands to departing managers. The ex CEO alone walked away with £180K. Clearly @uhbtrust values its executives more than the frontline staff keeping it running.
