you can love a character and still admit when they’re wrong. i love spock but i acknowledge his flaws (none he’s perfect) and can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he’s never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out on his actions (which are always right)

this is the wholesomeness that The New Show With Spock In It sorely lacks. it's not less funny for it, it still elicits a giggle, but it's not mean-spirited! nobody rolls their eyes or exchanges a meaningful glance: there goes dumb spock, always taking things too literally!
this miscommunication between spock and uhura is very sweet to me: even though spock interprets her question too literally, uhura just gently smiles and elaborates, without any meanness or mockery. all that to say, i like it when people are kind to spock

I love Star Trek, this is known about me. However, one thing Star Trek has a decided lack of that Star Wars doesn't, is weird little guys. Scurrying little guys. Wobbly, bumbling little guys. They're everywhere in Star Wars and they are absolutely correct, it's very good.
