got to facetime my family this morning. kyiv has survived another night. despite everything that is happening, babushka’s priority was to call me krasiva! krasiva! dedushka’s to smile and wave. i miss them so much
family have survived another night of bombing in kyiv. still no sign they are able to leave the capital. meanwhile a polish friend here in london is trying to organise for someone to meet my family at the border, if they can make it there
i once caught my ex telling his friends he thought i was cool but it was a shame about my birthmark. today my bf surprised me with a logo he’s created using my birthmark, which he thinks is beautiful 💗💜

my family have made it across the border to romania. the journey wasn’t easy (they encountered some people at the border who clearly didn’t want them to cross) but i’m so relieved they’ve made it out of ukraine. now we begin the process of trying to obtain uk visas for them

bought hotel almighty out of complete curiosity to see what an erasure of stephen king’s misery might look like. so completely delighted by how wonderful each page is. some of the best poetry i’ve read recently
this reads as gross simplification — the issue is NOT that a book has been written and set in russia, it is that this book seems to glorify fictional russian soviet dissidents, a complete insult to actual ukrainian dissidents of that time 1/2
