@shriyanevatia Agreed. But the whole idea was something that hits with a “techno-optimist” crowd more than a wider audience. Having a “not great” ad is forgivable imo. But completely misunderstanding the audience is not.

@alyssaleann My dad was the same way. My mom finally intentionally got into tennis (a sport he played growing up but also did not have the inertia to do), forced him to go to open play with her, and then slowly started pushing him to join men’s teams etc He has tons of guy friends now!

Soho house truly has the most insane staffing issue. Once walked out on a $500 tab because we could not get a waiter to even acknowledge us for over an hour & when we did, and asked for the check, they kinda blew us off and never came back. Thought they’d just charge the card on file but they never did 🤷🏼‍♀️

@NateRothstein @visakanv @OrphicCapital And yet, even if you do demonstrate ability to execute, 98% of the time people will want to hire you to just shut up and execute *their* vision. leading you right back to unemployable 🕺🏻

@provisionalidea Ok maybe dramatic lol but I’ve seen people do some pretty crazy runs and try to gain elevation too fast at unfamiliar resorts after not skiing for awhile — which has not uncommonly led to some type of injury. Usually not something crazy. But a couple knee injuries for sure.

Imagining @allgarbled nodding his head solemnly in agreement and liking this post after he just derived skiing from first principles. The one true skier.
