Work. I am capable of earning more than double what I earn doing Disability Support but the joy I get from making a real difference in someones life brings me more than my $$ of previous jobs. Life is certainly harder but much more fulfilling.

2 years ago I filled my car for $29. Today I filled my car for $49. Meanwhile my wage has not increased. Signed up for a new rental $500/wk up from $400 & I expect this new rental to increase in 6mths by a hefty amount (I saw this house earlier this year $620/wk) :(

Wow, there are 109 near me, I could scroll out and see many more - this is just in a couple of kms around me. The suburb I came from says "over 1000 stays" - I would see a weekly FB post "can't find a house for myself and children" and I wondered WHY. Now I know :( :(

I’ve used all my sick & annual leave since covid started. I can’t get through to Centrelink to claim and if you go in there they tell you to leave and call. Shall we pay rent or buy food for the children? I guess rich people don’t have these problems.

My mum took me to the local pharmacy when I was 9 (49yrs ago) and said to them that I was fat and could “they give me something”. They said it’s puppy fat and to enroll me in sport, they did and it worked but I’ve hid my eating of “bad foods” for life.

Started working, the retirement age was 55. I’m 56 now. If I was fully retired I would be helping my son & daughter & their families. They could purse further studies, better careers knowing we’re here to do school runs, cooking, cleaning. But no. Can’t retire till 67.

I miss the old CYSS where we learned new skills in our local area and they helped us find employment in our local area. Employers would contact CYSS advising of vacancies. The CES was a bus trip away but they also helped with job search and writing applications.

They need to stop changing the age too! I entered the workforce and the retirement age was 55, it's now 67! I should be retired, helping with my grandkids, touring our beautiful state, volunteering. All the things retirees get to do, while they can.

I had just finished my 2 weeks work exp in a local Record Shop. She couldn't pay me but said to take any record I wanted. This was it, double album too. I loved them all the way to Dream Police & stopped. I worked in that record shop after school/weekends for a few years.

I’m loving not having a cold -> bronchitis and antibiotics 3-4 times each year. I am the healthiest I’ve been in years. Happy to keep my mask on, each to their own.
