It's fine and proper to blame the Giants for blocking Santa Clara, but the A's could have built at the Coliseum 5 years ago, super easy, and instead opted to try to jack Oakland for a massive Fisher development deal. Greed, not the Giants, uprooted the A's.
Not ironic. Calculated. The Giants have been playing the long game, working MLB politics masterfully to keep the A's out of San Jose & Santa Clara County, figuring that Oakland and Alameda couldn't produce an A's ballpark agreement. Champagne corks likely popping in SF today.
