Here’s how: I again remind people that 10 years ago, San Jose had downtown property for an A’s ballpark purchased, an EIR completed & a naming rights sponsor secured, only to have the Giants & MLB kill the deal. A’s could still be in the Bay, playing there today. Instead . . .
This whole A’s saga just doesn’t seem right..baseball always prided itself on doing what is best for the game..if so how did they let the Oakland situation get to this? Seriously you’d probably have to go back to the 1800’s to see such a travesty of handling a baseball team..

This is where I again remind that MLB could’ve kept the A’s in the Bay by allowing them a move to San Jose, NorCal’s largest city in its richest county, after SJ had secured ballpark land & passed an EIR. Instead,the Giants squashed the deal with Manfred’s assent. Congrats, MLB.
Moving the A’s to Las Vegas feels like a decision that will be regretted.

Yes, colleague. Many things equally true in this sad saga, much blame to share. But this came first: In 90s when Giants hit SF ballpark roadblocks, Haas & A’s graciously gave Gs rights to SantaClaraCo. In the 00s when A’s hit an Oakland wall, G’s & Magowan didn’t reciprocate.
It's fine and proper to blame the Giants for blocking Santa Clara, but the A's could have built at the Coliseum 5 years ago, super easy, and instead opted to try to jack Oakland for a massive Fisher development deal. Greed, not the Giants, uprooted the A's.

This is baloney. I have no dog in the hunt. I live in San Jose, fly out of SJC. But this move to "increase geographic awareness" of OAK is an insult to East Bay citizens. Really? Most people flying to NorCal don't know where Oakland is in relation to SFO? I don't buy it. At all.

Sad news. He always made me laugh, on stage or at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Tommy was a good guy and loyal San Jose State grad. I once sat in as he filmed a commercial with Bill Walsh (another SJSU grad) promoting Spartan football. They improvised most of it. Amazing experience.

As the guy sitting alongside you in Calgary, I agree. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an athlete holding a bloody towel to a teammate’s head exiting the game, then the team rallying from 3 scores in last period to win. In any sport.
I was in Calgary for Game 7 in 1995 and it was great.
But it doesnt hold a candle to this.
Down 0-3, Captain down and out, four goals in four minutes.
Winner.
