Griffin protest supporters & critics point to election integrity as their motivation, but lost in that is a more political goal: to secure control of the state Supreme Court by 2030, when the next Census — and subsequently, redistricting process — occurs.

The next date to watch is Jan. 24, by which all briefings must be submitted. Election certification was set for this Friday, Jan. 10, before the order. Appears likely this election could extend into February. Riggs will stay in her seat in the meantime, but recused herself.
