I was 10 when an inexplicable fever of 104°f took hold of me for days. One night I woke up to find Dad sobbing uncontrollably, stroking my hair. I wept too. Next day Mom's friend took us to Maulvi Sahab, a devout Haji, who ran a humble razai shop in Police Lines, Dhanbad.[1/2]

Maulvi sahab soothed mom. To bless the water and Tulsi leaves mom had carried he gave dua and blew on my forehead. Something helped - the next day I received a diagnosis and eventually I got better. We continued to visit Maulvi sahab for years. [2/2]

. It's an intense memoir/ autofiction/ novel. The wry, sarcastic tone is refreshing and depressing. The writing seems effortless but the various layers, sensations and histories, politics are woven together exquisitely, seamlessly.

We often wonder where this need for art or beauty comes from. And this gorgeous photograph says, how can we not contain beauty and math and light, mystery and stardust? How can we not dance in primeval swirls, how can we not thirst to become one with the beauty that is cosmos?
Moon was captured at the same place, same time for 28 days. And the result is a beautiful lunar curve depicting rythm of nature🙂. Mesmerizing!
