I did a 2 hour study on simplifying shapes in environment pieces 🌿
My advice on painting environments is always start from simple shapes and layering them on top of each other 👏

100% true, all of my gigs came from me reaching out directly to art directors and relevant people. I update studios with my portfolio and resume through email, and it is those things that got me these gigs.
I collect studios like I collect Pokémon 😭🫶💛
A lot of good artists will never find a job because they count only on their talent/hard work while they are not good at this one softskill: networking.

I love to note when you're reaching out to AD or studios, your goal is to let them know you exist, not pushing for a gig. There's a huge difference between those two hence why people always feel very 50/50 about reaching out.
I will write a thread here of the differences (1/7)

You will not be able to secure a gig if you only rely on applying through job listings. You need to message the right people, email, and network to get the gig you need. Networking is just as important as portfolio growth.

Last year, I graduated worrying about getting a studio gig while working in a depressing fried chicken shop to sustain myself financially. I was always on my feet on survival mode 24/7.
