Collage Macabre is my first & only cover! A physical collage laid out inside a wooden frame I found in my grandparents' attic. The items are all references to the stories, provided by the contributors. I had to learn some graphic design to work on the text and making things pop.

Please say a prayer or mumble a good word for my dog Willow, who has been in pain for four days as we’ve waited for her to get in to the animal hospital for what I think is a badly torn ligament in her knee. She is so stressed and I am so upset that she’s had to wait. My puppy.

During the AIDS crisis, when gay men were dying, the people who mobilized to help them were lesbians. That’s why the L comes first in LGBT, it’s a nod to their efforts, giving blood, working in the hospitals when nurses refused to treat dying gay men. There’s history there.

I have had a very bad day. My 14 yo dog Boscoe had a cardiac event and for at least a minute I was certain he was dead. I did chest compressions and he revived and is acting fine. I didn’t take him to the vet immediately; I was so afraid they’d put him down. Vet appt tomorrow.
