@mel5mac Honestly, we probably overlooked 40+ people. To truly do all the top athletes justice, we'd have to devote an entire episode to name-dropping. I think the Fantasy Freetrail lists are a great reference point for a comprehensive list here!

“I’m definitely here to throw down. And I think that’s what makes races like this exciting - having all these girls that are potentially in the same fitness category and they’re all out there, and it’s honestly like, who has it that day? Who wants it the most that day?” Jenn Lichter returns to the Singletrack Pocast to reflect on her rise in the sport, the headway she’s made in 2023, and her intentions for OCC. “I’m gonna go out there and try and run with those guys and look, if it doesn’t feel sustainable, I’ll pull back a bit. But I don’t think it’s gonna be anything too wild. I mean, maybe Jim [Walmsley] goes wild. I don’t know. And the rest of those guys, like Tom [Evans] and Mathieu [Blanchard] - they’re spectacular runners. Extremely strong, but I’m sure I can hang with them.” Ben Dhiman joins the podcast to reflect on his breakthrough ultra performances over the past year, bits of his overall training and racing philosophy, and his competitive approach to UTMB later this month. “Yeah. Yeah. I’ll go hard, for sure... I feel like these interviews are always a competition with everybody else to see who can sandbag each other the most. You know, like, ‘Oh, yeah, I feel fine. But you never know.’ I don’t know. Everybody’s training hard. Whatever. I mean, I’ve been training hard. I feel like I’m super fit. I’ve had some incredible runs. I’m super, super excited.” Dakota Jones returns to the Singletrack Podcast to reflect on his history with the UTMB race series, how Western States and the rest of his summer unfolded, and what might be on tap from a performance standpoint at CCC later this month. “My motivation is really based around this triple now. The double turned to the triple and I’m just seeing if I can get back to that finish line and what it will look like to get there. Like I’m really intrigued by what will happen. I have no idea. I don’t know how my body is going to react and I really have no clue on what will happen when I get to that moment where I enter the pain cave.” Courtney Dauwalter returns to the podcast to reflect on the moment that clinched the triple attempt, her outlook for this year’s @UTMBMontBlanc, and some of her mental strategies that have been especially put to the test this summer at @wser and @hardrock100. “These [French] athletes were very well supported [ahead of the 80K World Trail Championships]. They had training camps throughout the year. They were on the course doing a big training camp five weeks before the race. They’d all seen the race, run together, and talked about the race.” We are back with Co-host Katie Schide for another edition of our Eurotrack mini-series covering relevant happenings at the @wser 100, @LavaredoUT, Mt Blanc 90K, and the 80K Trail World Championships last month before looking ahead to some of the European runners toeing the line at the @hardrock100 this weekend.
