I usually do this before the actual ceremony but I was too lazy, I'm posting my personal noms and win for the year of 2022 according to the Oscars eligibility list so I unfortunately wasn't able to include gems like Great Freedom and Happening.
The nominees for Best Actress are:
Lily Gladstone, KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON
Sandra Hüller, ANATOMY OF A FALL
Greta Lee, PAST LIVES
Natalie Portman, MAY DECEMBER
Emma Stone, POOR THINGS
The winners of the 5th
#NDFSAwards
will be announced on January 15.
Following what I started last year, I'l start posting the clips I would pick for all the acting nominees this year at the Oscars, starting with best supporting actor.
Everyone's focusing on the monologue (with good reason) but that's far from Natalie Portman's only standout moment. Just look at this scene, her expressiveness tells you the nature of her entire relationship with an off screen character in just under a minute.
Bradley Cooper outed himself for not watching Tragedy of Macbeth, and love that Emma Stone lives in a world where she got an Oscar nom for it, wish I lived in it too
With her nomination for GODZILLA MINUS ONE, Kiyoko Shibuya becomes the first woman of color and fifth woman in general ever nominated in this category.
I’m in tears all over again, Michelle fucking earned that Oscar and her win will age as one of the best in history, maybe the only time where an Oscar winning role could ONLY have been played by the actor that played it.
If Saoirse Ronan ends up getting an Oscar nomination next year for The Outrun she would be the first performer to get three nominations for films directed by women
This is exactly why it would be so powerful to see her win an Oscar for this, it’s not just a great performance, which it is, but also one that could not have been given by anyone else in a film that is both a tribute to her and her career.
One thing I love about EEAAO is it uses Yeoh’s celebrity as an asset. Her helpless in a fight is funny because we know she’s one of the greatest action stars of all time. Her being envious of a life where she could have been a glamorous star is ironic.
Since Sir Anthony Hopkins is most likely not going to attend the ceremony this year it would be genius of the academy to get Lady Gaga to present Best Actress.
I will never understand why out of all directors Greta Gerwig and Sofia Coppola have become the go-to’s for this kind of comment when there are people like Scorsese who’ve been making movies full of lily white people for decades.
BAFTA takeaways
-I see a lot of people assuming Emma is just going to run away with it but they seem to be forgetting there’s also a certain European actress who just got double nominations and whose movie got in everywhere it possibly could
-Look out for Milo Machado Graner
can't stop thinking about this so here are my ideal picks (including last year's winners)
Julianne Moore for Annette Bening
Ellen Burstyn for Lily Gladstone
Michelle Yeoh for Sandra Hüller
Julie Christie for Carey Mulligan
Olivia Colman for Emma Stone
Dying at the fact that the prestigious film industry awards completely ignored the May December ensemble but they got nominated by the fucking people's choice awards lmao
Following what I started last year, I'l start posting the clips I would pick for all the acting nominees this year at the Oscars, starting with best supporting actor.
Anya Taylor-Joy, Aubrey Plaza, Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy Allen White, Quinta Brunson, Tyler Hoechlin, Miles Teller, Misha Collins, Phoebe Dynevor, Jude Hill, Sharon Horgan, Troy Kotsur, Diego Luna, Jean Smart, Kerry Washington and more will present at the
#CriticsChoiceAwards
tonight.
I didn't want to post this before because it wasn't out but now that more people are watching it, I don't understand how you can watch this scene and not vote for Anders Danielsen Lie
There have been no repeat winners in ANY actress race this yeat: Rosamund Pike, Jodie Foster, Andra Day, Maria Bakalova, Carey Mulligan, Viola Davis and Youn Yuh-jung all have one award a piece
If Ruth Negga was nominated and won for Passing, she would easily be top 3 supporting actress winners of all time, as the years pass this will be remembered as one of the most egregious snubs in history.
Jacob Elordi: stars in three bad netflix romcoms and in a bad (but popular) hbo teen drama
auturs are breaking down his door trying to get him in their films
Jharrel Jerome: stars in the greatest best picture winner this century and wins an Emmy for When They See Us
*crickets*
As always the critics choice are so unserious, hilarious how the golden globes embraces May December, The Zone of Interest and Anatomy of a Fall more than the “critics”
As a person who watches the oscars every year it’s so bizarre to see an awards show where the host isn’t making fun of the nominees and actually celebrates them
It's his time of the year again! Starting with supporting actress this time since it's the only one where all the nominees are available.
Also the previous years I tried to keep them at a minute or under but I don't really care anymore so some these will be pretty long.

@kylekizu
Ooh, I have many
Robert Mitchum – The Night of the Hunter
Paul Giamatti – Sideways
Donald Sutherland – Ordinary People
Humphrey Bogart – The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
Yoo Ji-tae – Oldboy
Elisabeth Moss – Her Smell
Kim Hye-ja – Mother
Ralph Fiennes – The Grand Budapest Hotel
Rewatching All of Us Strangers and I feel like I must say once again, Claire Foy is fucking sensational in it, I think she might be starting to challenge Julianne Moore for my supporting actress of 2023
Emmy nom and BAFTA win for his first tv role
Oscar and BAFTA noms for his first lead movie rol
Olivier win for his second West End production
Love to see it
I too wish Greta and Margot had been nominated because I think they are better than at least one of the people nominated in their respective categories but THIS is the snub that really stung
Dula Peep wrote the best song in Barbie and she should be an Oscar nominee
Decided to watch Gwyneth Paltrow's full 2 hour long testimony and I'm seriously considering adding her to my 2023 best actress lineup, her best performance in over a decade
This is just a true work of art, from Gwyneth's impeccable poker face to the pan to the back rub at the end, should win best live action short at the Oscars next year.
I love both performances and completely understand why someone would prefer Melton over Gosling but I think a big part of tweets like this is the general assumption a lot of people have that drama is inherently superior to comedy and I don't like it
If Teo Yoo couldn’t get a globe nom despite 6 nominees and the comedy/drama division when they clearly loved the movie then he’s probably not getting in at the oscars either which is a real shame cause he’s the best part of it but at least the movie’s doing well
