Given the timely focus on young males in politics, check out this excellent interview with @HFHarvard colleague & friend Sam Pressler & @AmerCompass chief economist @oren_cass. The interview builds on Sam’s recent @AEI study of class & loneliness and the need for new pathways for working class males to participate in our shared economic & social life.
Today, college represents the dividing line in, economically and socially, in America. Sam Pressler, a fellow at UVA & Harvard's Human Flourishing Program, joins @oren_cass to discuss the crisis this is driving as young people navigate entering adulthood alone. Highlights 👇

@brvnathan & Monika are the rare gems speaking to our deepest longings for community and beauty while also building places and experiences to encounter both.

@joeyhiles1 I remember reading DiA and thinking this excerpt was one of the most important insights in the book; the other being his understanding of our art of association. @sckimbriel Do you think his insight about America's relationship with philosophy still holds in 2024 (vs. 1835)?

@ianmcorbin1 @commonwealmag @AdrianPabst1 @johnmilbank3 @SpencerJCox @ChrisMurphyCT @PeteDDavis @HelenBrosnan @EliGarlow @RoKhanna @Chris_Griz @SteveSchmidtSES @EJDionne Ian this is brilliant. I’d only push back on limiting the opposite of loneliness to shared agency. While true, doesn’t it also include shared enjoyment of basic pleasures like meals and more transcendent experiences of joy and awe?
