Trump did everything possible in his speech to confirm the fears of those of us who were alarmed about what his 2d presidency would mean. He confirmed that the next four years will require vigilance and activism in defense of liberty & democratic values.

Trump’s speech was overreach, divisive, without any sense that there might be good & decent people in the country who disagree with him. He has only one definition of “unity”: Everyone bowing to his will. From the live discussion with my colleagues:
