Caroline - congrats on a fantastic paper. It's great information for all of us in the pre-hospital world who struggle with this issue. I was fascinated to learn that the overall survival rate to hospital discharge or 30 days for those with follow up was 27/60 babies of viable gestation born by resuscitative hysterotomy was 45.0%.

A great point since everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone takes the time to learn from them.

I shudder to think about where I would be today if I were not allowed to fail (sometimes quite spectacularly) during my formative years (ie age 1-65)

John was a long time family friend, my neighbor and someone I’ve known my entire life. This one hits incredibly close to home. I can’t express enough my sadness for his wife, his parents and the men and women of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire. Rest easy Chief.

Training #firefighters #EMS or ANYBODY, you must differentiate skills focus (learn/practice the task) or scenario focus (putting it all together). You can learn knowledge from a vid, but if you’re teaching a hands-on skill, there has to be hands-on!

While improving #EMS #Resus program involves reading and discussing research, we never want to lose sight of the point: the PEOPLE who go home to hug their loved ones. We're not saving numbers; we're saving people!
