Applause for

and a lot of awkward shifting of positions and discomfort. Air left the room. Truth hurts. Accountability is tough. Her unwavering focus and blistering anger burns. A moment that must tilt action on its axis.

A new exciting chapter opened for me today. I am looking forward to making my contribution in a different way - working with the faculty and staff of Fletcher and the broader Tufts community - to keep shaping the next generations...

Not erased. Ignored. Four countries putting fingers in their ears and going “lalalalala”. Young people won’t forgive us. We have to move forward gathering pace while UN process corrects. Climate science on 1.5C erased at UN talks as US and Saudis step in

is final. We await its release. Now is a moment to thank those that pushed for 1.5 in Paris and those that pushed for this report and got it agreed. They had the sense of urgency and moral clarity - the lives that would hang in the balance between 2 and 1.5. RESPECT.

. 99 men. 1 woman. No wonder the pace of change to a cleaner economy working for everyone is so sluggish when mindset is to rely on half the population for leadership and wall out the creativity, talent and collaboration of the rest.

Reflecting on the
#LeadersClimateSummit
- it was all momentum building which is good even if not yet enough. But then
@ScottMorrisonMP
came empty-handed. Why? 🇦🇺will do well with renewables. As for dodgy carbon accounting. It’s like ball tampering. No team ever trusts you again.
Editorial in today's FT on new IPCC report:
"The science of climate change is now well understood, as are the technical solutions. The larger problem is politics..."
What a loss. We first met in Dhaka in 1993 and then and now he was unwavering in his pursuit of justice. Tagore said “You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.” Saleem, quietly determined, drove the whole world forward. What a life. আমার গভীর সহানুভূতি
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you about the passing away of our director, Prof. Saleemul Huq, on 29 October, 2023.
His unmatched legacy will remain as a shining example for years and generations to come.
Big day at

- welcome 🇺🇸🇨🇳pact shouldn’t cement under ambition in final text. No backsliding on fossil fuel focus. 🇺🇸 has much further to go on finance - package must be stronger with signal to IFIs that they need to shift gears. Also a good day for the 🇪🇺to make a showing.

It’s a make or break decade. We have leadership, dedication, wisdom and vision all around. We must get behind it, invest in and vote for it when we see it. We must stare down shortsightedness, nimbyism, exclusion, xenophobia and hate whenever we see it. Be kind. See you in 2020s.
Haven’t had a moment to reflect as some

students head home and we move online. But the heavy drizzle and grey sky today seems to sum it up. Together we can help flatten the curve, take care of each other and get through this. Resilience - it’s what we train for.
Now all we need is a treasury secretary that understands climate as systemic risk and who can gain senate confirmation. 2021 - the year of the stress test. The next president can force the financial sector to take climate change seriously

We [the G20] are increasingly disconnected from the rest of the world … scientists remind us of our duty in matters of climate change...our youth every week remind us of our duty, while we at the G20 discuss whether we can still cite the Paris agreement.
Touch points between climate risk and pandemic risk have become clearer. How can we learn from this extraordinary time for future risk events and ensure in our recovery from the health and economic shocks we come back with a fairer and greener/cleaner economy - a few thoughts 1/1
