As an IIT Delhi graduate, I’ve seen firsthand how our so-called "top" institutions are failing students. The issues at IIIT Hyderabad are just the tip of the iceberg. It’s time to expose the rot within our IIT system.

Wow, that's a significant step! Russia's move to forgive $20 billion of debt to African countries is a substantial commitment. It will be interesting to see the impact of this decision on the region's economic landscape.

This sometimes reminds me of the fact that the amount of intellectual labour needed to clear JEE in 1984 was much lesser than that of 2024.
Competition is today higher because of the access of information regardless of remoteness of area someone lives in today.
Why shouldn’t IITs let students pick any branch they like, irrespective of their rank in JEE, and rank based allocation being only limited to choosing college?
@mhrd_innovation
@dpradhanbjp
It’s high time the administration stops turning a blind eye to these issues. The integrity and reputation of our institutions depend on addressing these systemic flaws head-on.

They should be sued, demanded for public apology and changed huge amounts.
Discussion on online forums are only increasing their visibility, which is exactly what they wanted. There was no other purpose of such a heinous crime.

It's important to remember that success isn't defined solely by cracking the JEE or getting into IITs. The journey of life is diverse, and there are numerous paths to success and fulfillment. Your worth and potential are not determined by a single exam.

Athletic success isn't served on a plate of steak! It's about training, genetics, infrastructure, & respect for cultural values. Stop peddling simplistic solutions to complex issues.

It's understandable how challenging certain names can be for non-native speakers. However, Thiruvananthapuram holds significant cultural and historical relevance. Embracing and encouraging learning the correct pronunciation can foster cultural understanding and respect.

It is disheartening to witness how some leaders try to use divisive tactics to shift blame during times of rising prices. As a society, we must remember that unity and understanding are essential in overcoming challenges.

Having a broader perspective helps, it doesn't matter whether they are the kids who are heading US or parents...
But the fact of matter remains unchanged, are they able to understand what at the end of the they want, are they achieving exactly what they want, are their dreams...

Build great* campuses across India, invest 100s of billions of dollars to better the infrastructure. You don't need to have limited seats.
Massive investments in building great universities are needed.
Again, I don't support rejuvenation of old universities.

This is exactly how someone deteriorates the quality of education in a country; no good person would ever like to take the job, and this job is only for those coming from BPL.
BTW, I don't have any bad stereotypes for anyone who comes under BPL since it is not always their fault.

There is some realm of fictional realities naa...
Sometimes we forget the distinction between fictions and truth.
I remember somewhere in some question regarding calculation of time interval for a guru sitting in a Himalayas for him to influence his disciple in Kerala somewhere.
To all future engineers and innovators: demand better. The IITs are supposed to be the best, and it’s our collective responsibility to ensure they live up to that standard.

The reality is must people do nothing in entire life.
What they is feeding themselves and watching reels on Instagram while lying on a bed with no energy.
Being jealous by seeing someone else's success.
Having no clue of how to succeed.
The psychological toll on students is immense. Constant pressure, coupled with systemic issues and indifference from professors, creates a toxic environment. Mental health support is virtually non-existent.

We need more people like this who actually understand the landscape, promote hope even when the challenges aren't smaller always... Not those who are pessimist and promoting pessimism because they themselves don't understand a thing...
GenAI mixed with Robotics will be a common thing in the next five years.
There are 17-18 year old in the world spending sleepless nights figuring this out, some of them will build what Google and Meta can’t.
I think I know some of them.
Some of them will make multi billion
Machine uploads are not just non-feasible, but the concept itself is stupid and grown out of illusion. The beauty and efficiency a super advance hyper intelligent biological system can achieve, machine would never. Carbon is still a greater element than Silicon, and will remain.
This is called ambition: I don't understand what exactly our labs in India doing...
Only producing crap research: just for the purpose publishing some papers and the completion of PhD?
There is no adequate recourse for students to address grievances. At IIT Delhi, students' complaints are often ignored or downplayed, creating an environment where negligence thrives unchallenged.

1. The more content you create, the better you become at it; thus, over a period of time, you become an expert and a brand.
2. Your brand and experience will not become worthless at the same time.
But, after some time, the creator has to take a break and reinvent himself.
@prajdabre1
But, for what percentage of students or professors is this a living reality and not just something written somewhere in some centuries-old scripture?
I’m speaking out because current students often can’t, fearing repercussions. Yes, if you speak up against them, they will severely harm you, decrease your grades, and harass you in several different ways. Alumni need to step up and demand the changes we wish we had.

In India people do prepare for exams in the train and on railway stations with old guide books and a YouTube WhatsApp forward and still believe they will succeed ⏩
What a level of optimism...
I don't say they are doing something wrong and there is no question...

I explicitly condemn such practices, IITs should not become a center of job distribution, instead it should be a center where you train indivisuals, people who has the training should be able to find what they want. This kind of things would further decrease the quality of IITs.
