Spotify's APIs are actually really great! Built an app in about 2 hours today that allows my roommate to turn my volume down in case I'm being too loud - I feel like there's going to some much more innovative stuff built on their platform soon and I can't wait :)

Could easily see a great use of the API being an integration with say Rippling that automatically allocates a card when an employee joins, and changes their limit when they switch teams, roles, are on a corporate trip, etc. Excited for the possibilities this opens up :) (4/4)

(5/9) Secondly, it's brutal being a solo founder. Juggling building product, sales, investors, legal stuff, design, and managing your emotional state is pretty overwhelming. The amount of context switching also kills a lot of your momentum which is critical in the early days

One of the biggest challenges with our card product was designing a system that could approve/reject a transaction in less than a couple seconds - checking for fraud, customer rules, + more. My coworker Sam wrote about how we tackled this, take a look :)

Sometimes when integrating with an external API, a callback URL will be required (such as during an authorization flow). This is annoying when developing locally as localhost is often not allowed so I made - it's an https url that'll redirect to localhost

went scuba diving for the first time and wow - sure there’s the beauty of nature and the fishes, etc but the biggest thing is it forces you to pay attention and do pretty intense breath work for a couple hours but in a very entertaining way, afterwards I felt incredibly zen

(6/9) Thirdly, never rewrite your product. I thought if I could rewrite everything in React Native (including web), I would get a mobile app and be able to write once, run anywhere, The rewrite took months, killed momentum, and the unified codebase didn't help future dev work
