@HA11NNH @MWadeley And that's the rub. A defender is great for the "Let's off road!!!!" Crew, but something like a ranger or discovery is a much better all round choice. There's a good reason all the utilities fleets moved over from the Defender in the 00s

@MWadeley @HA11NNH My father went through the same transition with a water supplier. Got a brand new 96 300tdi commercial and had it for 10 years before being upgraded to a Ranger. The ranger was very much the preferred choice having such luxuries as "heat" and "sound deadening"

@HA11NNH The closest the average Defender gets to heated seats is al electrical fire!

@HA11NNH Might as well get your money's worth out of the Ranger. Loads of people rave about defenders but as actual daily/working vehicles they're not as good as a Ranger or DMax. Also depending on your height/build defenders can be uncomfortable to drive and are really cold.

@robosbornewales Because reach/transmission coverage has historically been terrible away from main transmitter sites. Once you leave South or North East Wales you've got more chance of contacting ET than receiving a commercial radio station (honourable mention to Nation radio at Aberystwyth)
