@ToastedDeclined @futtigue sports cars are always worth it imo :) the Z cost me like $1800 CAD initially, probably into it like 12-15k by the time it hit the road though (spread over 5yrs) would do it again in a heartbeat, that thing brings so much happiness

@futtigue this is the way there were footprints on the volvo's hood for several months this year because I stood on it to get a better angle for a pic of something then didn't care enough to try to clean it lol

@LeviBetz Big same I already do that as much as possible, but not having any financial pressures (either directly or in regards to having to spend time elsewhere to make money to live lol) would be the dream

@vehiclefan53 @LeviBetz @futtigue As long as it's set up properly agreed yea Dailying the Niva last yr during the -30c days we got, with it as my only working car was funny; everyone goes on about carbs and cold starting but it doesn't care one bit lol. Full choke and crank for a few secs and she always fires

@gadboit More welding is always fun :P but yeah, the less external stuff that has to be done always the better, it's always fiddly work getting everything to cosmetically line up perfectly.

@gadboit Fair! it's pretty close to flat/vertical at the bottom yeah. It's a pretty forgiving area which is nice, so long as the a-panel flange wraps around it and makes the panel sit level with the door (not sunken in or sticking out farther), then all is well.

@gadboit Will probably need slight adjustment when fitting the a-panel itself, but that's what hammers are for haha

And bam :) Little more cleanup still to do but happy with how all of this has come together. Onwards to the interior parts (the dash bar etc) next

Mini stuff continues, at the point where this area should all fall back together pretty quickly now. Firewall patch completed (shoutout to 75mm holesaw lol) welded in, and made the last bits for the outer pillar and inner structure to weld in next time

@rhydsnewi true lol, and ty! It's just annoying that they cut that corner, because all I had to do was drill plug weld holes in one side of the flange and squeeze the 2 halves together with vice grips while going the welds, took maybe 15 minutes. Ah well, it's fixed now at least haha

@notseelen pfft lol pretty much in some ways I suppose haha it's definitely going to be useful for future project stuff where repro parts simply don't exist etc
